Ruth Philomena (Fowler) Carr, age 84, of Baltimore, MD passed away on June 20th surrounded by her children and grandchildren, at Heritage Center in Dundalk.
Ruth was born on October 3, 1931 in Crownsville, MD to Marion William and Esther Elizabeth (Peddicord) Fowler. Ruth grew up in Crownsville and Annapolis. She was the youngest of six children. Her brothers, Walter, Phillip, Edward, and Alan precede Ruth in death. Her brother Robert survives her.
Ruth married Raymond E. Carr in 1950 and they settled in Baltimore where they raised six children: Linda Carr, Esther Leeper, Raymond Carr, Margaret Blair, John Carr, and William Carr. Her son-in-law, Paul Blair precedes Ruth in death. Her son-in-law Robert Leeper and daughters-in-law Theresa Carr and Anna Carr survive her.
Ruth worked for JE Smith Box Company for 30 years. She was a dedicated employee and made many friends while working there.
Ruth was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to have 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Ruth was known for her spunkiness, sweetness, and laughter. All that knew and loved “Ruthie” will miss her. “Say not in grief, that she has gone, but give thanks that she was yours.”
Family and friends will gather at the Kaczorowski Funeral Home at 1201 Dundalk Avenue in Baltimore, on Thursday, June 23rd for Visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish at 109 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens at 2150 Mount View Road in Marriottsville.
