With heavy hearts, we gather to remember a master of his craft and loving soul Robert Craig Kapuscinski, who left us on December 1, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on August 11, 1958, in the city of Baltimore, MD, Robert spent his days shaping wood as skillfully as he worked to shaped the lives of those around him.
A veteran of the United States Army, Robert carved out a life as a master carpenter, constructing some of this region's most prestigious buildings. His work echoed through the mid-Atlantic region where every hammer strike and carved surface bore his signature touch.
Robert was more than just a craftsman; he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dorothy Kapuscinski, and a revered father to his daughter Lauren Kapuscinski and step-daughter Nicole Oakes; Loving and proud grandfather to Emmerson Mercado, Lincoln Mercado, Gabriel Ortega, Nathan Ortega, Allyson Brooks, Kayden Brooks and Jaxon Rains; Brother to Diane Petr, friend to Jim Petr and caring uncle to Rachel Petr and Kristi Tupolo, and Kristi's children Gabe and Bella. His loving and passionate nature to share his knowledge with a watchful eye and teaching hand, filled our lives like the warm glow of a well-lit workshop; his skilled building knowledge and stories were the teaching tools of wisdom he passed down to those he loved.
As we look ahead, we plan to honor his spirit with a private military service at Crownsvile Veterans Cemetery.
Though he may have departed from this earthly plane, Robert's legacy lives on in the hearts he transformed and the structures he built. He will forever be remembered as a master carpenter, a devoted husband and father, a loving grandfather and a stead-fast light guiding all those he loved towards a life filled with love, commitment to family and strength to build and live our best lives.
