Philip George Starkey III, age 50, passed away suddenly at his home in Dundalk, MD on Sept 12, 2021.
Phil was born January 22, 1971 to Philip and Barbara Starkey. After graduating Dundalk High in 1989, Phil joined the US Navy and served honorably aboard the USS Vella Gulf. While in the navy, Phil was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Battle “E” Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Medal and Joint Meritorious Unit Award. He also developed his love of drawing and created unit logos for his comrades.
Phil raised one daughter, Savannah Brooke who was his joy. Phil’s life changed when Savannah was born and changed again when his granddaughters, Annabella and Harmony were born. Phil lived for his child and grandchildren and felt blessed every moment he spent with them.
Phil is survived by his parents Philip and Barbara, daughter Savannah, granddaughter Annabella and Harmony, sisters Kimberly Hart and Michelle Starkey and brothers Patrick Starkey and Joseph Starkey. Phil is also survived by his brother-in-law John Hart, sister-in-law Erica Starkey, nieces and nephews Patrick Stavola, Lauren Hart, Joshua Stavola, Garrett Hart, Patrick Starkey, Maxwell Starkey and Charlie Starkey.
Philip George Starkey III was larger than life. When he entered a room, he delivered a quick joke or quip then exited the room just as quickly. His quirkiness and wit will not be forgotten, and he was loved by his family.
