Philip George Starkey

Philip George Starkey Jr., age 78, passed away after battling leukemia on February 4, 2023.
Beloved husband of Barbara Starkey of 55 years, devoted father of daughters Kimberly Hart and her husband John, Michelle Starkey, Patrick Starkey and his wife Erica and Joseph Knapp-Starkey, and the late Phil Starkey III, Loving grandfather of Patrick Stavola, Savannah Starkey, Lauren Hart, Joshua Stavola, Garrett Hart, Patrick Starkey, Maxwell Starkey and Charlie Starkey. As well as great grandchildren Annabella and Harmony.
Phil was born August 20, 1944, to Philip George Starkey Sr. and Audrey G Starkey of Baltimore, MD. In addition, Phil's family included sisters Ellen Starkey (deceased), Melia Tomas and niece Joyce Knapp.
After graduating Patterson High School, Phil enlisted in the US Marines and served in Vietnam. He was called home early after his father passed unexpectedly to take care of his mother.
After returning state side, Phil worked at GM for 34 years.
Phil loved sports, competing in golf and softball in his youth, winning the 1970 State Championship with the General Motors softball team. In his later years, he rarely missed watching the Orioles and the Ravens.
Phil lived for his grandchildren and great grandchildren and felt blessed every moment he spent with them. He was a care giver and help in raising his grand and great-grandchildren. He always watched out for his family and took care of many family members that were in need.
The final years of his life were difficult with his oldest son passing away. He always perked up around the holidays and enjoyed anything Elvis or old westerns movies. Phil will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.
