Michael A. Ciuchta, 73, passed away on October 4, 2023, at his home in Frankford, Delaware with his family by his side. Michael succumbed to his battle with blood cancer after a courageous fight of 6 years.
Michael was born on May 9, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, to Milton and Helen Ciuchta. He graduated from St. Martin's High School in 1968 and went on to earn a degree from Towson University in 1972. He started his career at Crown Petroleum where he spent the next 37 years. He finished his career as VP of Benefits for Foundation Coal, retiring in 2015.
Michael married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, on November 23, 1974 at Holy Rosary Church in Baltimore. The couple had 2 children, Ryan and Kaitlyn.
Michael was best known for his charm and jovial demeanor. He had a creative passion and love for both interior and floral design. He was an avid gardener, arts patron, history buff, beach enthusiast and animal lover. Ever the consummate host, Michael loved nothing more than to entertain his family and friends in his home.
Michael is survived by M. Carolyn Ciuchta - wife, Ryan C. Ciuchta - son, (Elizabeth A. Rubacha - daughter-in-law), Kaitlyn M. Ciuchta - daughter, Samantha M. Ciuchta - niece. Michael is preceded in death by Milton S. Ciuchta - father, Helen T. Ciuchta - mother, Steven J. Ciuchta - brother.
Services for Michael will be held on on Friday, November 3, 2023 beginning with a visitation at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Northeast Baltimore City. A private burial, for immediate family, will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Dundalk, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Michael's name to The Father Burke Scholarship Fund at St. Francis of Assisi School or to Archbishop Curley High School.
