On March 1, 2011 MARIA MELNYK (nee Bilenko), a native of Ukraine, migrated to the United States on June 23, 1949, with her husband and 4 ½ month old daughter, Luba, were indentured servants, sponsored by and worked for Indian Spring Valley Farm in Harford County, became US Citizen in 1965, beloved wife of the late Wasyl “Walter” Melnyk, devoted mother of Luba Melnyk Held and her husband William, Vera Melnyk Block, and her husband Charles, and Pete Walter Melnyk and his Fiancee Karen Hopkins, loving grandmother of William J. Held, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Jenny Held Miller and her husband John, Richard B. Held and his wife Tara, Michelle C. Strotman Graffney and her husband Joseph, D. Kollynn Wilson and her husband Glen, and Jay Aleksyeyenko and his wife Alla, great-grandmother of Kayla, Gavin, & Garrett Held, Amanda, Carly, and John Miller, Brianna, Brandon, and Natalie Held, and Carolina Marie Graffney, Haley and Kyler Wilson, and Sasha Aleksyeyenko, Great-grandchild #14, Baby Graffney is due July 2011, sister of Anastasia Sokolenko in Ukraine. Maria is also survived by many loving relatives and friends in Ukraine.
