Margaret Kaniecki

Margaret (Margie) Kaniecki born November 4, 1927, in Baltimore, MD and died November 21, 2023, in New Freedom, PA surrounded by loved ones.

Margie was born in the front room of her home. She grew up in Baltimore with her parents, Andrew "Henry" Kaniecki and Martha (Palmowski) Kaniecki and brother, Joseph Kaniecki.

Margie worked at Crown Cork and Seal in Baltimore, MD where she retired early. In her free time, she loved taking care of others, baking, bingo, bus trips, and dancing. She was also known to be independent and quite feisty. She was never married and never had any children; however, she had a life companion, Joseph (Joe) Jelen. Margie was the “grandmother” to everyone in Canton and was always seen walking around town and sharing a smile.

Margie was a do-er. If you wanted something done, everyone knew Margie would help take care of it! She had active roles in her church, volunteered at many activities, and helped raise Pam, Andrew, and Monika. She was a loving mother figure and everyone’s biggest cheerleader; Margie always had your back! She was a pure soul and loved everyone she met; she would light up a room with her smile and sense of humor. Margie always loved unconditionally and was supportive to everyone she encountered. Anyone blessed to have met Margie, walked away feeling loved.

Margie is survived by her loving self-proclaimed daughter, Pamella Rostek-Kuwazaki, her “pumpkin" Monika Rostek-Kuwazaki, her friends in the Rostek family, second cousins Bonnie Rosier, Sonny and Jackie DeCosmo.

She will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
