Margaret Ann (Knott) Darago

July 12, 1953 — August 31, 2023

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, Margaret Darago (nee Knott) passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Christopher Darago, Sr., mother of Lisa Meissinger & her husband James, Anthony Darago Sr. and the late Christopher Darago Jr., mother to her extended family of Brandi, Amy, Stephanie, and grandmother to Ashley, Bianca, Cameron, Anthony Jr, Alex, Cecilia.

Margaret, or "Margie" as many of us fondly called her, possessed a unique and beautiful hippie spirit that embodied positivity and joy. She was a loving soul, her heart radiating with an endless capacity for love and her presence brought warmth, laughter, and love into the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her infectious smile was a reflection of the love she held for life and for all those who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her laughter was a melody that filled the air with happiness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she touched.

Family was the cornerstone of her life, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her children, grandchildren, and extended family were the heartbeats of her existence. Her family was her heart's delight, and she cherished each and every moment spent with them. Whether it was a simple family dinner, a party at the park, a holiday gathering, or family game night at home, her love for her family shone brightly. Her greatest joy was in seeing her loved ones happy and together. Her legacy of love and unity will forever remind us of the importance of cherishing our bonds with those who mean the most to us.

One of her most cherished qualities was her boundless capacity to care. Her open door policy was an embodiment of her kind and nurturing nature. Whether it was a listening ear, a comforting hug, or a helping hand, Margaret was always there to provide support to those in need. She had a unique ability to make people feel welcome and cared for and an instant member of the family.

One of her greatest talents was her flair for cooking, but what truly set her apart was her talent for baking. Her cakes, in particular, were legendary. She poured with her heart, mixed with love, and decorated with pure joy each edible work of art that she crafted for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Each slice was a demonstration of her creativity and her ability to make every moment unforgettable.

We will remember her with gratitude for the beautiful moments she gave us, for the love she showered upon us, and for the smiles she brought to our faces. She will always be remembered, cherished, and deeply missed. She would never end a conversation with goodbye so in her words we say I love you, see ya later and Peace!
