It is with heavy hearts that we announce Lorraine Grabowski (nee Pulaski) of Baltimore, MD, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2024.
She was the loving wife of Celestine 'Babe' Grabowski for nearly 62 years. In addition to her husband, she will be deeply missed by her three children: David Grabowski and his wife Lenay, Benjamin Grabowski and his wife Kristin, and Deana Grabowski-Finnerty and her husband Michael. Her two granddaughters, Cassidy Finnerty and Ava Grabowski, were the light of her life. Lorraine also leaves behind her brother, Anthony Pulaski as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lorraine was born on December 14, 1941, to the late Joseph and Helen (Kamasinski) Pulaski. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Helen Shoemaker and Martha Bandurchin, a brother, Robert Pulaski Sr. and her beloved dog, Heidi.
As a child, she attended St Stanislaus School followed by St Michael's Business School. She worked for a short time at Commercial Credit before becoming a wife and mother. She later worked at Two Guys Dept Store followed by Westinghouse until she retired.
As a devoted Catholic she made regular donations to the church to keep the flowers fresh on the altar. Lorraine spent her life dedicated to her family and therefore a pillar of love and support for them. A few of Lorraine's favorite activities included spending time with her family on game night, apple picking, family celebrations, or just enjoying a meal with them. She was an amazing cook whipping up meals from various items found in the fridge. She would also put together delicious homemade baked treats to follow. She shared her Polish heritage through her cooking served on Polish dishes and always enjoyed an opportunity to Polka.
Lorraine was very creative. She enjoyed time with her friends in her younger years painting ceramics, later joining the Ateaze Senior Center where she continued to paint while making new friends. It was always a blessing to receive a piece of her work as she put her heart and soul into her art. Lorraine's talents also included baking and decorating cakes for weddings and parties alike. If you were lucky enough to receive a handmade crocheted blanket from Lorraine, be sure to wrap yourself up in it and feel her warm hug.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Middle River, MD. Lite fare to follow as we celebrate the life and love of Lorraine. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to American Diabetes Association ( https://diabetes.org/ ) in memory of Lorraine.
