It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Linda Susan Wisniewski, a beloved soul who brought warmth and light into the lives of all who knew her. Linda's journey began on July 01, 1949, in Negaunee, Michigan, where she was welcomed into this world by her loving parents, Walfred and Aileen Johnson.
Linda graduated from Neguanee High School, as part of the Class of 1967. Following graduation, she embarked on an adventurous journey with her best friend, Beth (Hakala) Jaremczuk, to Baltimore, Maryland. Little did Linda know that it was in this city she would meet the love of her life, Stefan Wisniewski, her bratnia dusza, with whom she would marry and share countless cherished memories for 51 years. The tale of their first date remained a source of friendly debate throughout the years - who initiated the date? Was it Linda or Stefan?
A devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens, Linda's passion for football was truly unmatched. Together with Stefan, she served as a gracious host for family and friends at their home on Homberg Avenue, turning it into an unofficial Ravens Roosts for fans. These gatherings became treasured moments creating much laughter and fond memories. In addition to football, Linda had a weakness for soap operas; anyone interrupting her during an episode would promptly be met with raised volume as a gentle reminder that her soaps were not to be missed.
Linda held a special place in her heart for her grand doggies - Casey, Maggie, and Guiness. Caring for them brought her extraordinary joy. One particular highlight of Linda's day was walking to the mailbox to sort everyone's mail. On occasion, she would open the wrong package or envelope- innocently admitting that it happened by mistake- just to catch a glimpse of what lay inside. She eagerly anticipated visits to the hairdresser because it would most certainly entail a trip to the local ice cream shop afterward.
Of all the aspects of her life, what brought Linda the greatest joy and fulfillment was the love and support she provided for her cherished daughter, Theresa. Linda and Stefan made countless sacrifices to ensure Theresa had access to the best education they could possibly offer. They provided private schooling in her formative years and continued supporting her journey through college, where Theresa eventually earned a master's degree in nursing. It filled Linda's heart with immense pride to witness Theresa's accomplishments and see her flourish in a successful nursing career.
Linda possessed an incredibly sweet and warm personality that endeared her to everyone she met. Her kind heart extended to anyone in need, always reaching out with compassion and support. For over 25 years Linda bravely faced the challenges presented by Parkinson's disease never allowing it to dictate her life completely. Even up until the end, she remained steadfast in her determination to conquer this debilitating disease. Her resilience was truly remarkable.
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to our dear Linda as she departed this life on November 13, 2023. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever live on in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Williams.
Surviving are her loving husband, Stefan Wisniewski and daughter, Theresa Wisniewski; a sister, Betty (Stephen) Chipman of Colorado Springs, CO; three brothers: David Johnson of Negaunee, MI, Jeffrey (Pam) Johnson of Negaunee, MI, and Randall (Melanie) Johnson of Appleton, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Kaczorowski Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
