Died April 8, 2021 in Baltimore, MD
Born September 18, 1931 in Baltimore, MD to Frank & Marie Nowak (nee Matuszak)
Eleanore grew up in Baltimore’s Butcher’s Hill neighborhood, attended Holy Rosary Church and elementary school and graduated from Seton High School in 1949.
On October 10, 1954 she married Edward B. Rybczynski at Holy Rosary Church who was the love of her life! His success in life was due in large part to Eleanore’s abiding support at home.
Eleanore’s legacy is in her love of family, church, and home. She loved raising her 10 children, singing at her beloved Holy Rosary Church and being home in Upper Fell’s Point. Her crab soup, pierogi, raisin bread and so many meals made with love are her family’s favorites that have been passed down through the generations. As the grandchildren started to arrive, her life became even more blessed as she watched their successes and struggles, always giving a kind word, a bit of advice or just a needed hug.
She always welcomed her family to their shore home in Baltimore County where many memories were made on those Sunday afternoons.
Eleanore is survived by her ten children - son Paul and wife Sara, daughter Carol Dieter and husband David, son Thomas and wife Mary Veronica, daughter Mary Ellen Menendez and husband James, son Philip and wife Clare, daughter Janet Tomas and husband Louis, son Robert and wife Suzanne, son Mark and wife Tina, son John and wife Irma, son David and wife Rachel. Survived by 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Betty Kuessner, sister-in-law Rosalie Dietz and her husband Donald, sister-in-law Joanne Gregory, brother-in-law Albert Poremski and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Edward, brother Frank Nowak, brother-in-law Ronald Kuessner, and daughter-in-law Julie. Also predeceased by brother-in-law Adam and wife Genevieve, brother-in-law Melvin and wife Lillian, sister-in-law Helen and husband George, brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Anna, brother-in-law Edmund, and sister-in-law Victoria.
