Diana L. Karr, administrative assistant at the Maryland Zoo Hospital. Diana L. Karr has died of cancer at Franklin Square Hospital at the age of 78. Diana was the daughter of Clarence and Freda Hoffman, and was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. Her life was a demonstration of her love of nature and a firm belief that all life has value. Diana was a registered nurse who spent 2 years in Honduras in the Peace Corps where she learned to speak Spanish fluently. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Slavic Languages from the University of Indiana. Diana was also a breeder of English Shepherds, secretary treasurer of the English Shepherd Club, an administrative assistant for the University of Maryland NICU, and for the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore Hospital. In her spare time, Diana was an artist and a writer with a love for classical and folk music, and was active in the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Baltimore.. She is survived by her children, Fred and Michele Karr, and her sister, Sharon Snyder. Viewings and a service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Kaczorowski Funeral Home P.A. 1201 Dundalk Avenue from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, National English Shepherd Club Rescue, or the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Baltimore.
