David Posey

On October 6th, 2022, beloved husband and father of two, David Posey, passed away at the age of 68. Dave is survived by his wife Lynn, his oldest son Scott and daughter-in-law Reilly, his youngest son Alex and his fiance Caitlin, his grandsons Jack and Henry, his brother John, and sister Frannie. He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar Posey and Grace Walker, his brother William (Billy), and his mother and father-in-law John and Catherine Gruber.

Dave, as he was known to his friends and family, was born on November 21st, 1953 to Oscar and Grace in Baltimore, MD. Dave served proudly in the Army and was later honorably discharged before meeting the love of his life, Lynn. Throughout their 44 year marriage, they would welcome two children into the world, Scott and Alex, and spent many happy years together in the Eastwood area of Dundalk. Yearly summer vacations were spent in Ocean City, Maryland where Dave was known to take his sons deep sea fishing or cruise down Coastal highway listening to his beloved Doo-Wop. Another love of his was Baltimore sports. Many summer nights were spent with friends at Memorial Stadium and later with his kids at Camden Yards watching the Baltimore Orioles. You could also find him on any given Sunday watching (and sometimes yelling at) the TV while supporting his Baltimore Ravens. Dave was also an avid dog lover and was frequently seen spoiling his four legged friends while on the couch together.

Dave worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration for over 40 years before retiring in 2015 for the quiet life. He was also a founding member of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Fatima parish where he was a 4th degree Knight.

Dave/Dad will be remembered for all of the joy he brought into the lives of others. Whether it be spending time with family or lending a helping hand when it was needed, Dave never said no to those he held dear. Dave was reliable and quick to help, regardless of the circumstances, which showed in the number of friends he made over the years. He always put his family first no matter the cost, and he passed this value on to his sons who continue to carry on his legacy.
