Charles Edgar Parrish

Charles Edgar Parrish, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 100. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Charles John Parrish and Marie Fisher Parrish, brother to Marie Parrish and Helen Reed Parrish. Charles was a lifelong resident known for his dedication to family and his long career in the steel industry.

Charles attended Loyola High School in Baltimore, where he played baseball, fostering his lifelong love for the sport. He later furthered his education at Loyola College and the University of Baltimore.

After high school, he married the love of his life, Gloria May Sewell, who preceded him in death. Together, they raised a family that became the cornerstone of his life.

He is survived by his children: Patricia Dorr, Charles (Deborah), James (Deborah), and Robert (Lia). Charles was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren: Leanne (Jim) Petrides, Lawrence Dixon (Shana Sterkin), Katie Lundholm (Andrew), Gordon Parrish (Cassaundra), Bethany Hess (Eric Butera), Matthew Parrish, Dexter Parrish, Edison Parrish; and his great-grandchildren: Lauren Thiesse (Andrew), Kristen Murray, Benson Hess, Lennon Hess, and Oskar Lundholm.

Charles dedicated 30 years of his life to Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and camaraderie with his fellow workers. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed his time surrounded by family, sharing stories of his experiences, the history of Baltimore and watching the Orioles.

Charles will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering support for his family & friends. His life was a true testament to upholding traditional family values, dedication, and community.

Viewing and Service Details: A viewing will be held on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at Kaczorowski Funeral Home in Dundalk, MD, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in Charles' name.
