Anita J. (Barberan) Borzymowski

Anita J. Borzymowski, former First Lady of the Polish Home, has died.

On June 11, 2017, Anita Josette Borzymowski (nee Barberan), long time East Baltimore resident and former First Lady of the Polish Home Club, departed this life.. She was 88. Born in Oran, Algeria on October 2, 1928 to Juan and Ana Barberan, she is the last of six children to survive.  She met her husband, the late Joseph J. Borzymowski, Sr. (2010) of Baltimore, while he was stationed in Oran during World War II and came to America at age 17. She was a lifelong resident of East Baltimore and served the community chairing fundraising for the March of Dimes and United Cerebral Palsy and also as a member of the State Central Committee, the State’s Register of Wills and First Lady of Polish Home.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, Anita was, most of all, a great friend to all. She loved life and everything it encompassed and loved helping all of us celebrate it. And how she loved to dance! To her, life was meant to be one big dance! She had a special way to let everyone know she was a friend for life and will be deeply missed by family and friends and all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Samuel J. Borzymowski and his wife Sandie of Millers, Frank P. Borzymowski of Orlando, FL., and Joseph J. Borzymowski, Jr. and his wife Allison of Forest Hill; grandchildren Joseph J. Borzymowski III and his wife Amanda, Daniel M. Frank III and his wife Tika, Christina Markel and her husband Chris; great grandchildren Mary Helen and Bantam Borzymowski, Peyton and Juliana Markel and Allison Frank; and nephews Jean-Marie, Patrick and Joel Barberan now residing in France. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Kaczorowski Funeral Home, P.A.,  1201 Dundalk Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland.  Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Mary Church on Thursday at 10 A.M.  Interment will be at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery. www.KFHPA.com
