Alice E. (Pilkerton) Lacey

Alice E. Pilkerton Lacey, 85, one of twelve children was born on May 11, 1928 to Rena Owens Pilkerton and Harry Arthur Pilkerton in St. Marys County Maryland. When she was about 20 years old she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she eventually met the love of her life, Sylvester Joseph Lacey, who she married in 1954. Alice spent most of her working career in the Tax Assessment Department of Baltimore County. She and Joe resided in Rosedale. She lost Joe in 1997 and she eventually moved to Madison County, VA in 2006 to reside with her youngest brother and his family including their 5 grown children. Alice enjoyed many fond memories of the Bright, Krystyniak, Finney and Sema families in Baltimore.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, her spouse of 44 years Joe, her sisters, Mary and Robert Cheseldine of Bushwood, MD, Helen and John Flora of Beltsville, MD, Carrie Mae and Bob Graver of Laurel, MD, and Lillian and Jack Gordon of St. Louis, MO. Also predeceasing her were her brothers, Willie Pilkerton of Hollywood, MD, Harry and Dot Pilkerton of Greencastle, PA, and Herman and Bernadine Pilkerton of St. Louis, MO, her brothers-in-law, Harry Flora and Paul Lanham of Beltsville, MD and Huntingtown, MD.

Surviving Alice are her sister, Doris Flora Lanham of Beltsville, MD, brothers,  Aubrey and Priscilla Pilkerton of Deltaville, VA, David and Shirley Pilkerton of Beltsville, MD, and Frank and Connie Pilkerton of Madison, VA. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Rosalie Pilkerton of Hollywood, MD. She is survived by approximately 60 nieces and nephews and many more great nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the wonderful care the charge nurse and CNA’s at Autumn Care Nursing Home gave to our beautiful beloved Alice. We will miss you so much.

Visitation will be at Kaczorowski Funeral Home,P.A. 1201 Dundalk, Ave. Baltimore, MD 21222 on Friday September 27, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 3:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday with Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at approximately 1:00 p.m. please contact Kaczorowski at 410-633-0000 on Friday for location of the luncheon and if you plan on attending the luncheon so that the family may prepare properly for their guest.
